The Lore of the Unseen Age

The Purpose of this Page: This is a short-hand account of how the world setting works, including important stories and realm explanations. It will not be very detailed. However, this may be a good article to bookmark and come back to if you need reminders.

The Current State of the Setting:

Our setting is currently in the Unseen Age. It is the age that Primordials have given access to magic back to humankind after keeping it from them for tens of thousands of years. Currently, only 10% of the population has access to magic of any form because they are releasing it slowly.

The focus of our setting is a large city called Granhaven. Ten years ago, a massive earthquake caused a large crack through the city. This crack is mostly named The Rift or The Divide. Thousands died as they fell into the depths of The Rift, many were injured. Since then, Granhaven has attempted to build multiple bridges to the land across, trying to reconnect to the rest of its people, but only one bridge has been successfully connected. The largest bridge has been broken due to flaws in construction, attacking beasts and monsters, and just bad luck.

Since this is our main setting, it is highly recommended to read through the Granhaven page. It will explain everything from politics, to nobility, to factions, and much more.

More information (reminders) you might need:

  • Humankind has lost 99% of knowledge pertaining to the Primordials. Anything left is lost in ruins, underground, or to the sea.
  • The most recent, or previous age, is the Age of the Dragons, so lore about this Age is the most commonly studied.
  • The Age of the Undead was wiped away by the Primordials after Morbissia's defeat, including memory and physical evidence.
  • Yalara is the most worshipped deity in Granhaven.
  • Rydian is currently the only school in the nation legally teaching magic.
  • The Ordained commonly despise anyone else using it without deity permission.
  • There are not multiple "races" on U.A. Instead, magic is what alters your characters appearance. You can use elves, dwarves, orc, and all other fantasy races for your character representations, but they are still all "human."

There are three realms:

    Elysium, the Divine Realm
  • Not RP-able
  • Belongs to the Primordials, gods can sometimes be invited.
  • Practically nothing is known about it.

    Empyrea, the Spirit Realm
  • Not RP-able
  • Inhabited by Spirits and gods.
  • Humans are unwelcome after they were banished for their arrogance and greed.

    Telmarus, the Mortal Realm
  • The Realm our setting focuses on.
  • Humans were banished here after they proved willing to destroy Empyrea with their “ambition.” This knowledge, however, has been lost to passing millennia.
  • Telmarus is a fantastical world consisting of your normal fantasy tropes. Dragons, goblins, manticore, all exist in different places around the world.
